Fourth graders participate in reading comprehension activities associated from a teacher's guide. In this reading comprehension instructional activity, 4th graders read Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Message by Chief Jake Swamp and complete the associated activities that are focused on the themes of environment, family traditions, and Native Americans. They read about how the Mohawk people begin each day being thankful to Mother Earth and answer a series of questions.
