Pupils investigate absolute value functions.  In this Algebra II/Pre-calculus/Calculus instructional activity, students explore the formal definition of absolute value and apply the piece-wise definition to solve inequality problems.  Pupils explore functions for symmetry with respect to the axes and the line y = x.
