High schoolers observe demonstrations of exothermic and endothermic reactions and determine the changes that take place in a chemical reaction. Students observe four demonstrations showing entropy, attraction of molecules due to polarity, magnets pulling ions apart, and the effects of CO2 on burning candles. High schoolers experiment with sodium thiosulfate crystals and observe endothermic and exothermic reactions.
