In this history of Nebraska worksheet, students read information about pioneer life in a sod house.  Kids conduct 4 experiments where they use measurement skills and observational skills to imagine the size, light levels, smell of living in a sod house.  Students use a watch to reenact the length of time it took to pose for a photo and then eat popcorn and watermelon to experience pioneer treats.  Historical photographs are provided.
