Instructional Ideas
- Find examples of the different types of chemical reactions and set them up as stations around the room; allow groups three to five minutes at each station and then everyone rotates
Classroom Considerations
- Groups need access to a computer, the Internet, and video equipment
- Assumes learners possess knowledge about chemicals, elements, and chemical equations
Pros
- Provides differentiated instructional tips for gifted and talented students as well as non-native speakers
- Lesson uses scientific apps and media presentations
Cons
- In session 3: Explore, the link to the labs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln does not work, nor is it listed anywhere else
