Listening Exercise

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Active listening is key to interacting with others in a way that shows respect. To develop their skill as listeners, high schoolers first play the "Telephone Game" to demonstrate some of the problems that arise in communication. Pairs then engage in an activity that asks them, after listening to their partner for three minutes, to repeat what their partner said. As an exit ticket, individuals evaluate their listening skills in a journal entry.
