Loc: American Life in Poetry

Each week, Ted Kooser, U.S. Poet Laureate from 2004 to 2006, creates a column on contemporary American poetry for newspapers and online publications. His columns include a brief introduction or reflection, followed by the text of a poem. The poets whose works are featured here give brief glimpses into nature and everyday life in often extraordinary ways. All the columns are archived, and it is a pleasure to return to the site week by week for the new additions.
