Students predict and test different variables that would effect sugar cubes dissolving in water. In this dissolving lesson plan, students have 4 petri dishes with 4 different variations of sugar cubes and water. They predict which will dissolve the fastest and through inquiry they see which one actually does. Then they record their results and talk about how different factors could have contributed to one dissolving faster than the other. There is a chart to fill out as well.
