Ninth graders prepare to write, develop, and publish the culminating task essay. This essay will compare and contrast the way a theme is developed in the play Romeo and Juliet and one of three film versions of the play--Romeo and Juliet directed by Franco Zefirelli, Romeo + Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann, and West Side Story directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins.
