In this moon image instructional activity, students determine the scale of an image taken by the LRO satellite of the Apollo 11 landing site. Students calculate the sun's angle at the time of the photograph using the shadow of the Lunar Lading Module, trigonometry and a scaled drawing. They also determine if their are boulders present in this area that are larger than 1 meter across.
