Here is a very fun idea that introduces young learners to how geographical location affects cultural development. They are introduced to four areas where Native Americans have lived in the past by reading stories and examining images. The class is split into four groups, each of which creates an outdoor relief map with stick people to represent four different locations in North America. Tip: A relief map can be created using clay, rocks, and sticks for a more permanent indoor display.
