For beginners, present multiplication as repeated addition to give them a familiar context. They examine grouped sets of objects and add up the groups to get a total. Then, learners translate the addition sets to a basic multiplication concept (e.g. 4 twos = ___ or ____ fours = ____). These eight problems are scaffolded nicely to get scholars doing more on their own as they go. The steps are outlined in an example problem.
