Students study the o=/o/ correspondence in written and spoken word. They listen to the sound and watch how their mouths move as they make it. They recite a tongue twister and write both upper and lower case o's. Using two colors of Popsicle sticks, they identify when they hear the /o/ in words the teacher says. Next, they read a book and use the Popsicle sticks to indicate when they hear the sound. As an assessment they complete a worksheet.
