It inhabits rainy, mild climate zones at higher elevations than the closely-related Deermouse (Peromyscus maniculatus), and prefers areas where the forest canopy is somewhat open. Learn more about the Peromyscus keeni, more commonly known as a Northwestern Deermouse, in this easy-to-read species overview by the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
