An NPR-produced slideshow set to the music of Claude Debussy showcases dozens of post-impressionist masterworks by Cezanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Bonnard, Derain, Degas, and Picasso. The slideshow coincides with an exhibition that opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in September 2006 to underscore the pivotal role that art dealer Ambroise Vollard played in promoting the careers of so many well-known artists who were working in France during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A great way to view, at one sitting, the influence Cezanne exerted on the artists who followed him.
