In this instructional activity, middle schoolers learn more about the characteristics of parallelograms by folding paper and measuring the angles in a parallelogram. Students use a ruler and protractor to draw parallelograms with given properties. Then, middle schoolers use a ruler and protractor to draw a rectangle. Included are examples, discussion questions, and challenge problems. Interventions are given for ELL students and middle schoolers with special needs.
