Production scheduler Jessi Felde explains how she uses math in her work in this video from KAET. In the accompanying classroom activity, students watch the video and then complete an activity involving one aspects of math that Ms. Felde mentions: planning the number of employees needed to complete a task, given how much time it takes to complete each task. To get the most from the lesson, students should be comfortable multiplying fractions by whole numbers, and they should have some familiarity with unit rates.
