Pbs Teachers: Learning Resources for How Art Made the World

Curated by ACT

Access five lessons that would enrich any curriculum about ancient civilizations and the art produced by those civilizations. Using the PBS documentary "How Art Made the World" as a jumping off point, the lessons ask students to think about a number of fundamental concepts, such as how the human form is represented, styles of portraiture, the messages that art conveys, art as an act of self-expression, and using art to communicate personal memories. Although the lessons were designed to complement the PBS documentary, access to the film series is not required.
