This investigation helps young scholars clarify economic performance measures. These include: percentage changes in the Gross Domestic Product or the Consumer Price Index, how the labor force is measured, the meaning of employment and unemployment, inflation measures, nominal and real Gross Domestic Product, economic performance targets, and economic performance in recent years. After the investigation, they will have a good understanding of how the health of the economy is measured. (Note: Data in the investigation may be somewhat out of date, and teachers may wish to update it using the data citation.)
