Popcorn is a tasty part of a culminating activity designed to motivate readers to share important literary elements. The popcorn fills the inside of a white paper bag that is transformed on the outside into a presentation tool with the illustration of a favorite story scene. Readers also prepare notecards to be used as an outline for their speech containing: setting, character, problem and solution/resolution. A presentation guide rubric (provided) empowers students to do their best work through self-assessment. One missing direction is when to have participants enjoy their popcorn; probably best to save that element for the end!
