- Make an activity more relevant by printing these out on card stock and requiring learners to send postcards to someone in particular (a politician, an author, a scientist)
- Tie the postcards into literature study; pupils can illustrate a scene and write a note to a character, or take on the persona of a character to write to another person in the story
- Have learners write postcards to themselves at the beginning of the year and save them to send home at the end of the year
- Grow your students' relationships with pen pals or classroom buddies with customized postcards
- Ask parents and guardians to write short notes to their students during Back-to-School Night and hand out the missives to pupils at the beginning or end of the year
