Use a probability scale line to help introduce learners to odds and probability. They start by examining an example line, looking at where events would fall from 100% probability to 0%. Next, learners complete two of these on their own, referencing a deck of cards for the first set of events and weather patterns for the second. For each, they label five events along the scale of probability. Be sure to debrief as a class after scholars finish, and consider asking them to create one of their own, perhaps with some humor involved!
