The culminating fifth lesson from a series of five has pupils explore racial inequalities from the 1960s and decide whether or not society has changed over time. The lesson comes with a speech from President Obama to help hone reading comprehension skills and uses knowledge from previous civil rights lessons to build to a four corners activity where middle schoolers express their opinions. Engaging and relevant, historians come out of the activity empowered to bring society closer to racial equality for all.
