Learners examine advertising from early to mid twentieth century.  In this advertising techniques instructional activity, students assess the different ways advertisers "sold" the concept of railroad travel.  Learners examine a variety of advertisements (newspaper and magazine ads, postcard, calendar art, and a travel brochure) to identify tools and techniques used by the industry.
