Lesson Planet
If you don't teach blind or visually impaired students, this lesson may seem a bit strange. But, it helps them develop motor skills, orientation and movement skills, and listening skills, while building a better understanding of direction. They use a geo-board or a wood board with nails hammered in a grid pattern to stretch rubber bands from left to right. Some variations of the activity include stretching the rubber band from the left to different sections of the board and a tactile dot-to-dot experience.
