Billy finds himself in many difficult situations because he is unsure about how and when to take responsibility. Collaborative groups work together to answer if Billy made responsible choices and what he should have done instead. Independent work involves using knowledge gained in the group activity to write a short story about Billy and the broken window. Accommodations for younger grades or non-proficient writers can be made by using additional persons to record answers, accepting briefer written answers, or accepting verbal answers.
