Working as teams, students learn the basics of fluid power design using the PFPD as their investigative platform. Students will investigate the similarities and differences between using pneumatic and hydraulic power in the PFPD. While the main components of the PFPD have been previously assembled, the students must determine the correct way to connect the valves to the actuators using the colored, plastic tubing. Once connected correctly, students may have timed challenges between others to test abilities of separating material out of containers using the PFPD.
