Geometry novices will enjoy this approach to finding area, as they aren't required to include units or a formula. The main objective here is to segment a rectangle into columns and rows to create squares, which then are used to find the area. First, scholars draw a rectangle with two rows and two columns, determining how many squares are inside it. You may want to remind them that they might not come up with squares, but rather rectangles. Then they complete two similar problems.
