After finishing The Catcher in the Rye, review new vocabulary with an individualized bingo game. Class members develop a list of new vocabulary drawn from the novel or literary devices studied during the unit. Individuals then place words in bingo card boxes and define at least one word from the list. Play proceeds until a class member can define all the words in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. The activity can be use as a review for a formal vocabulary assessment, or just as a fun way to close out the study of the novel. A printable ingo card template is included.
