In this secondary mathematics instructional activity, students solve a problem in which a rope is stretched tightly the length of a football field from goal post to goal post.  When one foot is added to the rope, students determine how high it can be lifted off the ground at the fifty yard line.  The one page instructional activity contains one problem with solution.
