The Gingerbread Man Trail

What a fun way to familiarize your young learners with friendly faces on campus! Scholars read "The Gingerbread Man," discussing the characters he meets. Then, they examine a map of the campus, placing photos of employees (such as the principal and nurse) where they work, and learning what each person does. The class bakes their own gingerbread man, which escapes from the oven, prompting a (searching) tour of the school to meet the people whom the class has discussed.
