Thesaurus Islamicus Foundation: Islamic Art Network

Curated by ACT

This resource presents a treasure trove of scholarly resources on the art and architectural history of Islam. A work in process, the network's resources focus principally on Cairo but are expected, over time, to move outward to cover the greater Islamic world. Includes (1) an exhibition of the work of Archibald Creswell, who, while on faculty at the American University in Cairo, documented many Islamic buildings and monuments; (2) a glossary of terms common to the study of Islamic art and architecture; (3) a photographic archive. Other searchable databases include rare books no longer in print and articles (in French) originally published in the "Bulletins and Memoires of the Institut d?Egypte" and dating from the 1880s.
