Why are there so many different types of triangles? Be that as it may, beginning geometers need to understand the differences between equilateral, isosceles, scalene, and right triangles, and they get a visual approach with this exercise. Each type of triangle is described, named, and pictured at the top. There are 12 numbered triangles for learners to sort into one (or more) of the four categories. Be sure they understand that one triangle can have multiple identifiers, and consider asking them to draw in the right angle square as a guide.
