Students examine the separation of powers of the branches of the U.S. federal government. For this U.S. Constitution lesson, students listen to a SMART Board supported lecture on checks and balances of the Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches of government. Students then complete an activity that requires them to categorize current events according the separation of powers.
