Fifth graders model and distinguish between prime and composite numbers. Students are paired up with another classmate to complete this lesson plan. Students are assigned different numbers to work with, they use square tiles to form as many rectangles as possible for their assigned numbers. Students will explore their work to see what patterns arise. Student work will be displayed around the classroom.
