Virtual Museum of Canada: Community Stories: The Canso Causeway's History and Impact

Cape Breton Island was separated from mainland Nova Scotia until the Canso Causeway was built. The exhibit examines community life and industry before the causeway's construction as well as its impact on life after it was completed. Archival photographs and documents are included.
