In this volumetric analysis instructional activity, learners experimented with a known amount of hydrochloric acid to determine the relative molecular mass of an unknown group 1 carbonate. Students use volumetric analysis to determine the moles of the unknown substance and the mass of one mole of the unknown substance. They then determined the unknown group one carbonate.
