Here is another opportunity for math young scholars to apply reasoning to solve real-world problems with ratios. The ratio of the number of votes for two candidates is provided. Your class is asked to use this ratio and information given about a third candidate to find the number of votes for each participant. Though the attached commentary does not include a table, it may be easier for learners to see the relationship between equivalent ratios and the total number of voters. It is up to them to choose a method to solve this problem.
