Students discuss water pollution and the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 after watching a teacher demonstration in which different contaminants are added to tap water. While some contaminants are not harmful to the body, in excess they can make someone ill and leads to the discussion of EPA maximum contaminant levels.
