Young scholars identify the characteristics of a hero. In this character development and writing lesson, students listen to music with a hero theme and discuss the common traits of heroes. Young scholars explore individuals and charitable organizations devoted to animal welfare. Students work in groups to research outstanding individuals who have contributed to animal welfare, and create an award to be displayed on a classroom "Wall of Fame".
