White Pine Pictures: For the Love of God: The Mennonites and Benjamin Eby

Curated by ACT

Benjamin Eby was a Mennonite who brought his family to Canada from the U.S. in 1807. He carried with him 10,000 silver dollars sewn into 10,000 pockets in a quilt. The money was used to buy land which became the community of St. Jacob's in southern Ontario. This site outlines the history of the Mennonites in Ontario and describes the making of a television documentary about them.
