Curated by ACT

This house belonged to abolitionists and suffragists Abby Kelley Foster (1811-87) and Stephen Symonds Foster (1809-81), and was used by them as a site on the Underground Railroad. The property also featured prominently in the Fosters' refusal to pay property taxes because she was unable to vote.
