Curated by ACT

This 1759 Georgian house was used by George Washington as his residence during the 1775-76 Siege of Boston. In the 19th century it was purchased for poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-82) by his father-in-law, and is where Longfellow wrote many of his best-known works.
