Celebrate superwomen during Women's History Month with a lesson that showcases a variety of female role models. Following a whole-class discussion on superheroes, role models, respect, and admiration, scholars listen to several biographies then write about an individual that has made a positive impact. Participants craft a paper figure dressed as a superhero that highlights a woman's contributions.

  • Create a superhero-themed bulletin board to display finished products—comic book-like bright colors and the stereotypical font 
  • Make an example or show the included picture for learners to reference while they work 
  • For upper elementary, direct pupils to cut and assemble their own superhero figure; for lower elementary, have pieces pre-cut or volunteer an adult to assist with the craft portion of the lesson
