ACT
In this instructional activity, SuperHero ABC, a book written by Bob McLeod, and Meanwhile, a book by Jules Feiffer, are used as mentor texts. Students will work in groups and create lists of unique superhero powers that start with different letters of the alphabet. Students will combine with each other and select two or three of their favorite superhero characteristics and then draw this fictitious superhero. Numerous prompts about superheroes are included to help the students generate ideas. [Requires Adobe Reader.]
