In this instructional activity, students will engage in this post-reading strategy for a nonfiction or a fiction piece. Each student will take notes on a four-square square graphic organizer about something they already knew, something they found interesting from the reading, something they found surprising, and questions that were raised during the reading. Robert Frost's "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" is used as a mentor text to demonstrate the instructional activity within the context of a poem.
