In this lesson, Spring: An Alphabet Acrostic by Steven Schnur Mentor, Silver Seeds by Paul Paolilli, and Henry & The Kite Dragon by Bruce Edward Hall are used as mentor texts. Students will practice their acrostic skills on the tail of a kite. Students will write descriptive adjectives, vivid phrases, and exciting verbs. Students must make sure that their descriptive ideas and words "flow" as the tail of a kite would. Directions for creating the kite are included on a link included on this lesson.
