This review discusses Ralph Fletcher's book entitled Marshfield Dreams and Cynthia Rylant's book called The Relatives Came. The author suggests that these books be used as mentor texts. In the suggested activity, students will engage in comparing these two mentor texts and generate a list of skills by which the students were impressed. Finally students will write about "visiting relatives" and will attempt to incorporate the skills used by the mentor authors.
