As students master the concept of the number line, they may be curious about where fractions would fit on a standard number line. Students will work cooperatively to explore the possibilities where fractions lie on number lines. Students will also work independently to extend and enrich their new knowledge of fractions on number lines. This lesson plan was created by exemplary Alabama Math Teachers through the AMSTI project.
