Unidentified man; British archeologist Dorothy Annie Elizabeth ("Daisy") Garrod (1892-1968); and unidentified man. Garrod was the first woman to do research on Paleolithic humans, first woman to hold a professorship at Cambridge University, and co-leader of an important archeological exploration of Mount Carmel during the mid-1930s. This photograph was taken by Fremont Davis at the International Symposium on Early Man, Philadelphia, March 1937. Science Service writer Emily Davis' notes on the back of the original photograph say "British archeologist Daisy Garrod in the middle. Don't know the other two.
